Thrifting

When I started reading blogs, I found so many people finding great treasures at thrift stores. Garage sales and Flea Markets are only going on when the weather starts warming up here. That makes for an extra long winter.

I finally made it into one of the thrift stores close by and found a couple of treasures that I wanted to share with you.

How cute is this litte guy and only $1.99. The primroses were a dollar at the grocery store.

This is where the story gets a little sad. This adorable basket, which I thought would be perfect holding eggs for Easter, broke right after I cleaned it all up. This too was $1.99.

Of course it left a big dent in the floor! Nevertheless, I have a new love, thrifting.

  1. I love, love, love thrifting. The hunt is so much fun. But, I have had a few sad finds break along the way....so I know how you feel about your basket. Think of the dent in the floor as a rustic aged patina :) The duck is cute!!!!!

  2. I don't have to tell you how much I love thrifting. I think about 85% of the stuff I decorate my house with came from a thrift store.

  3. Horray for thrifting!

Confession. The night after I brought home the Goodwill wine glasses I bragged about last week, the husband broke one. :(

  4. I love thrifting. I made an escape from my basement project today to check out finds at Goodwill and get my $1 Caribou coffee. It was a splendid 30 minutes of quiet time, and I didn't come home with anything...just enjoyed the hunt!

  6. What cute little finds! Bummer about the basket. I was never a thrifter but after reading and seeing so many great finds I've got the bug. With 3 toddlers it is nearly impossible to get out on my own but my husband is out and about all day and has a list of items I am looking for and when he can stop he does. What a guy! For Valentines' Day he came home with a big box full of white pitchers, my fave! Happy thrifting!

    Best wishes,

  7. I believe thrifting can be GREAT therapy. I love going just to go....it is usually feast or famine for me when I go.

Don't you wish we could all go together? How fun would that be? :)

Love your finds...that basket will be uber cute for the Easter/Spring season.

    Cheers~
