First we have The Nester. When I started reading her blog I fell in love with her office right away. One of my favorite details is the wainscoting she and her husband did.
She wrote a post here about how they did it without breaking the bank.
Next we have inspiration from Pancakes & French Fries. Jules's husband made and installed the board and batten and it looks fabulous.
I always enjoy visiting her blog; Jules makes me laugh and always keeps it real. This room should be in a magazine.
Karla from It's The Little Things wrote a detailed post about how she gave her room a new look.
Love the little bottles sitting on the ledge at Pine Tree Home.
I think I could do a post a mile long with all the inspiration out there.
I really want to give this a try, I feel armed and ready. Now I just need to get my husband in on this gig. I wonder what he will think of this great idea. Hmm...I'm sure he'll be thinking oh no, here we go again!
I LOVE the first photo! It reminds me of the color on my studio walls except mine's more of a dark olive...too dark. I thought using this might lighten things up. I'm also installing it in my bedroom too with wood I already have on hand. Hopefully it will turn out as beautiful as the photos you've posted. Thank you for the inspiration!

Our poor husbands need to form a support group, tee-hee. The beauty is when you can get them to think that it is their idea. Do this through subliminal suggestion...works every time.
ReplyDeleteI do love the batten.

It's never over! Our husbands must realize this by now, right? Great pictures. Love the look, and function, too. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing my dear! Have a fab Friday!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Pine Tree Home--do it! It makes a world of difference. Thanks for the mention, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThese images are inspiration for sure. I love the look of board and batten. It adds so much character to a otherwise plain room.
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration pictures! I hope you can get the hubby on board with the batten (ha! sorry, couldn't help myself). It's such a classic look and would be so beautiful in your home.
ReplyDeleteHi I just found your blog and look forward to following as we are treasure hunting kindred spirits!
ReplyDeleteGood one brick cottage! I think I'll have use it on my hubby.

ReplyDeleteI love the red gingham chair
Your post is inspiring as always!

Suzanne
Hmm, I'm thinking that would look really nice in my kitchen once I talk my husband into painting the cabinets for me..............
ReplyDeleteWe have batten board
ReplyDeletein our mud room, but
without the top ledge...
If I were to do it all
over again, I would most
definitely have a ledge
for displays! Great

Amy
I am visiting you from Maison Decor. My neighbors did the same and he did it himself, it transformed the house. They are all lovely photos and so elegant.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting these links! I have a wall I've been dying to do this for, and the instructions are very simple.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your blog.
I love board & batten too and am hoping that we {my hubby} puts it in our hallway when we tear out this blasted carpet. I think it would jazz up a pretty boring hallway. Yes, that was a peek at my photo wall but I still have so far to go. I was laying it all out and taping the paper up, but then I got impatient and just started hammering. The cost of the frames has kept me delayed. A much bigger area than I originally thought and it started to add up fast! How's yours coming along?
ReplyDeletewow. The Nester has basically my dream office. sigh... i think im in love.
