About an hour after we got the keys the first thing to do was rip those ugly awnings down! That weekend we opened up the little doorway.
Thanks for helping us out Dad!
Neutral carpet was installed until we were able to afford hardwood floors.
We scored the new wood front door for $100.00 because it was a cancelled order.
The stereo speakers are hiding under the two skirted end tables.
This dresser is one of my favorite finds. The mirror I bought at the flea market in Paris and carried it all the way back to our hotel in the rain. I fell in love with a chandelier for my dining room but passed it up because I didn't do my research about shipping things home. I regret that all the time it was so cool!
Lovely photos of your home!

Jamilyn, I bought the rug from Pottery Barn. It was on sale for a great price so I thought I would give it a try. Not what I had in mind but my husband liked it. When I got it home I noticed a small hole. I called the store and they gave it to me for $80.00!! Its an 8x10 wool rug!
ReplyDeleteWe fixed the hole and I have really come to love it.
GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS!! I'm still picking up my jaw from the floor. Amazing transformation. Those Louis style side chairs...be still my heart!!

Great makeover! I am jealous of your hardwood floors.
ReplyDeleteThis transformation is amazing, and I love your style! In fact, I have been looking for/fantasizing about fern/leaf prints just like yours. Would you mind sharing with me where you found them? They are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference! It's fantastic!

Caitlin,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
I found the fern prints on ebay, I got four of them for ten dollars! I just checked and they are still selling them, search fern prints.

Sometimes old keys can work in many different locks, you might try asking at estate sale places if they have any old keys available. I got two new (old) keys when I bought a cabinet at an estate sale warehouse, and they fit my old desk!
ReplyDeleteI'm another one of those people that wants to ask where you got something--I am in love with your couch? Is it slipcovered? Absolutely lovely transformation!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love the way you have the couch and chairs arranged.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing change. I love before and afters and this is astoundingly different. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWow that is quite the difference! I'm very impressed with what you were able to do. I bet you could make a lot of money off that if you ever decided to sell your home. I'm always an appreciator of "sale" shopping.
ReplyDeleteWow!!I love your style. It is encouraging me to decorate my home. Please keep the photos coming. Kelly:)
ReplyDeletehundred bucks for that beautiful wood door. You are lucky.
ReplyDeleteI just saw your Christmas decorations on Sixth Street Design School and I have exactly the same dresser! Literally, the bones are totally the same, it just has plain wood handles. I suspect it had your type of handles at one point in time. Where did you get it? Any idea how old it is? So funny to see that somewhere else!
