She is all grown up.....

and sleeping in her big girl bed! I found a pair of antique beds at an antique shop for the little ones big girl room. They needed some love and I could not have been more excited about my find. The man I bought the beds from would not separate them so I had to buy both. It would have been great to keep the other one for future sleepovers but we don't have the room so onto Craigslist it went.

Ok now on with the makeover......

I started out by having the bed stripped of all the old paint. Then I glued two appliques to the headboard and footboard.

Then I primed and gave it two coats of paint. The edges were sanded for a not so new look.

The bed ended up costing about 150.00 after paint, appliques and making money back on Craigslist from the other bed.

My husband and I painted the monogram above her bed.

The bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids that I got for a steal by calling all over looking for pieces of clearance sheets and the duvet.

The little one is thrilled with her new room and so are we.

  17. You know that I think about this bed sometimes and pray that I'll find one someday (actually if I found three, that would just be perfect). I'm so sorry that you had to give up the other one, and I'm really sorry that I don't live next door so that I could've taken it off your hands. Anyhow, I think you're gonna win this week at CSI again, this bed is just amazing. I totally need a piece of furniture to glue a wood applique onto.

  21. A hand-painted monogram on the wall- so great! I'd love to do that in my son's room. I need to get better with a paint brush first!
