This is what I've learned about Christmas trees...they are very difficult to photograph! I hope to have a big girl camera one day. Did you hear that Santa?
I used a lamp sitting in front of the tree with the shade off to get this shot. It helped, without the lamp the front of the tree was really dark, even at dusk when the sun wasn't streaming in.
Here are a few of my favorite ornaments....A lot of them were gifts from my sweet Mr. 65th.
This cute little bird is new this year...I love him.
I use these glass balls in groups of three and hang them deep into the tree for lots of extra sparkle. They come small, medium and large, I use them all. I saw Hobby Lobby and Michaels selling them this year.
The baby's first Christmas picture. Can you see those cheeks? She had the chubbiest cheeks you have ever seen. It was hard to stop nibbling them!
Are you tired of Christmas posts yet? I have more to share...
Check out Thrifty Decor Chic she is having a huge Christmas tree party.
Your tree is absolutely gorgeous Londen. Love the shape of it. Doesn't look like you had trouble at all getting a good shot.

it looks stunning, londen. i love how soft and airy it is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Londen! Our family tree is a hodge podge of decorations collected and received throughout our lives - nothing so elegant/sophisticated as this!

i've been reading a lot of bloggers saying it is hard to photograph their christmas trees but the results have been excellent. your tree is gorgeous! i love it v much and it photographed beautifully in my opinion. no not tired yet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!! You and I are a lot alike when it comes to trees...and photography. Here is to hoping Santa grants your wish. :)
ReplyDeleteCheers~

I could never get tired of Christmas posts! The tree is beautiful, even if you had a difficult time photographing it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Londen and you are sooo right, it is so difficult to get that great Christmas tree shot. I am hoping to get my post up today. I love all the pretty sparkly ornaments. So classic and classy! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!!!! And I love your Christmas posts!!
ReplyDeleteThat tree is spectacular!!! I LOVE the shape of it! And I agree, photographing trees and having them look as good as it does in person is pretty impossible. Lighting and lenses will make the difference - a wish for me as well!
ReplyDeleteI just bought three of those little bird ornaments on Saturday too! I am in LOVE with them!
I think the bird ornament is my favorite! The pictures turned out pretty well!! I have an exposure overide button on my camera that I can use to brighten up the front of things that are backlit, but indoor photos this time of year are soooo difficult. And flash pictures are certainly not a true reflection of your sparkly tree!! Good thinking with the lamp! I, too, am hoping to get a new camera for Christmas (actually, I think Santa ordered it last night, but he said it might not get here in time. boooo!) Beautiful tree, Londen. Maybe I should try to photograph my tree with my broken camera and see if it comes out at all!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm not tired of the Christmas posts, it's just that every time you post, I have to add new projects to my list.....and I'm having the hardest time locating a copy of It's a Wonderful Life to watch. Looked at Redbox, searched the tv for any possible upcoming show - nothing. I guess I'm headed to Blockbuster!! I also have the pinecones still on my to-do list....
Keep the Christmas posts coming Londen, I love seeing what other's have done in their homes. Your tree is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteHugs~

gorgeous!!!! that tree is amazing without all the lovelies you put on it. And, then all the pretty sparkly stuff? Incredible!
ReplyDeleteYOur tree is stunning Londen. I LOVE it! Its alot like "my" tree in the dining room. The big one in our living room houses all the personal, memory-filled ornaments but "my" tree(silver, mercury and white) is so lovely in its monochromatic glory.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Sarah
So sparkly divine! My tree is similar in gold and glass. I love anything that sparkles at Christmas. Really brings out the magic of the season!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying the most wonderful time of the year!
Tired of christmas posts! NEVER. Not when they look as pretty as yours do. Your photo turned out really well I think, I sure do like all your lovely ornaments.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteSomething I just heard about taking shots in front of the Christmas tree: line a pizza box or cardboard with aluminum foil and hang a bunch of Christmas lights over it. Attach the box to a hanger and hang it over something (like the back of a chair) in front of the tree. It gives it the glowy Christmas tree look!

The last three minutes give the tips, if you don't want to watch the whole thing!
Your tree has such a cute shape! I agree that trees are hard to photograph. I've tried a dozen times and it never looks as nice as in person..... :)
ReplyDeleteYours is very pretty!
Looks great! I think the photos actually turned out really well. I will be finishing the decorating of our tree this week and plan on trying to take some photos - but I agree with you - it's not easy to get good ones!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful!! I HATE trying to photograph a Christmas tree!! ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree, Londen. I love your new little bird ornament! It's a pretty shaped tree and so sparkly.
ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog. I love your taste and your home looks so warm and inviting. Beautiful tree.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...I love it's shape!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree! I totally agree, they are hard to photograph (and I do have a good camera)...but when the darn thing is 11 feet tall...it's just hard!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the shape of the tree, and what a cute baby photo! We have my baby photo on the tree, too. My mom loves it. I'm 20 now, ha! (:

ReplyDeleteyour tree is beautiful!! i love all the detail....thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteLove love love love love your Christmas tree, and your whole blog for that matter. Your tree actually reminds me of a tree in the 2010 Pottery Barn magazine, we used it for inspiration on our tree. I love how you mix cheap with expensive decor and it all ends up looking great. Well done!!
